Through precise surveying, we extracted the location of the bedrock at the base of the embankment and fitted it with the Red Hill, clarifying the internal structural expression of the Potala Palace buildings and the positional relationship between the main building and the bedrock. This serves the preventive conservation efforts of the Potala Palace Ancient Architectural Complex. The surveying data was also applied to a 3D visualization platform, providing data support for the intelligent operation and maintenance, daily management, and information management of the Potala Palace. Several achievements from this project were showcased at the Shanghai Building Expo and the CCTV program "Newsroom" in the episode "Protecting the Thousand-Year Treasures of the Potala Palace," attracting widespread attention from all sectors of society.

The Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Bodhisattva stands at 4.2 meters tall, with a floral crown adorned with many Buddha heads. The two main hands wear bracelets and are bent in prayer, while thousands of hands emanate from the sides and front, each with a delicate eye carved in its palm. These hands hold various objects such as ritual instruments, bells, drums, books, jewels, flowers, fruits, and musical instruments. The small spaces between the hands make for a dense arrangement, with the longest hands reaching 30-40 centimeters and the smallest around 10 centimeters. The dim lighting inside the temple made it challenging to accurately survey each hand without omission. The project team counted and numbered each hand, keeping detailed records before, during, and after surveying and photography. Despite the difficulties, the team successfully preserved the digital information of the Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Bodhisattva using advanced technologies such as 3D laser scanning, close-range photogrammetry, massive point cloud digital modeling, and digital display. They counted the long-mysterious 1008 hands, providing data support for further research, protection, management, and display of the Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Guanyin statue, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of the statue and enabling the formulation of more comprehensive protection plans.

In 2016, the Decease Technology Cultural Heritage Protection Center undertook the 3D surveying and digitization (Phase II) project of the Dazu Rock Carvings in Baodingshan Dafowan. The project included UAV oblique photogrammetry, overall 3D scanning of the rock carvings, detailed 3D scanning of key niches and areas, construction of 3D models of the environment and ancient buildings, 3D modeling of stone artifacts, application in conservation engineering, 3D display, and data management application systems. This achieved 3D digitization of the Dazu Rock Carvings, intelligent database management, and vivid digital displays. It enhanced the sustainable technological innovation capability and public digital display level of the Dazu Rock Carvings, further expanding tourism development and cultural industry growth in Dazu.

This project utilized 3D data acquisition, texture data acquisition, and 3D model construction to preserve the 3D information of key artifacts in the museum. Based on this, a data management system was established to centrally manage the 3D data and model information of artifacts, enabling the addition, deletion, modification, and querying of artifact information, global search of 3D data, and system management, as well as comprehensive display and interaction of artifacts. The project's achievements supported the informatization construction of the Haidian Museum's cultural relics, better realizing the need for advanced cultural relics to be "three close to" (close to the reality of social development, close to the needs of the masses, and close to the actual life of cultural relics), and promoting innovation in the protection of Haidian's cultural heritage.

Using UAV oblique photography, centimeter-level aerial image model data covering an area of 13.68 square kilometers was obtained. Through 3D laser scanning and close-range photogrammetry, millimeter-level 3D point clouds of fossil sites and sub-millimeter-level 3D digital models of 18 first-grade fossil specimens in the collection were collected and established. Based on this, a high-precision current status surveying and mapping database of fossils and relics was constructed. Additionally, 54,314 pages of engineering drawings and 48,876 pages of paper documents from the site management office were scanned and organized to establish digital archives. Using multi-source heterogeneous data, a data management system for the Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site was built to enhance the efficient and comprehensive management of cultural resources. The site monitoring and early warning system was upgraded and transformed, integrating digital achievements into the system to enhance the visual management level of the site area. Combining 3D digitization with AI restoration technology, an immersive experience was realized. A digital exhibition hall was constructed through holographic projection, BOX immersive films, and interactive exhibitions, which have significant scientific popularization and educational significance for people to understand the development of ancient humans.

Firstly, complete data of the Zhengyang Bridge Canal Dredging Monument was obtained through digital surveying and mapping, and a 3D realistic model and current status electronic rubbings were established. Secondly, the current preservation status was obtained through conservation surveys, and the disease information of the monument was analyzed in conjunction with the analysis of the 3D realistic model. Subsequently, the text on the current monument was extracted and analyzed to achieve virtual restoration of the artifact, such as extracting stroke information like horizontal, vertical, oblique, and dot strokes from the text, conducting skeleton extraction and contour analysis filling for individual strokes, and obtaining the complete stroke contour of recognizable characters. Finally, digital archives were formed based on these achievements, providing data support for the subsequent protection work of the Zhengyang Bridge Canal Dredging Monument.
